While the kids were indulging in bowl after bowl of applesauce, I kept having flashbacks to a book I read 

through out my childhood.

And Rain Makes Applesauce

I can remember reading it over and over again. The story was quite catchy and the pictures were so visually unique, you could get lost just looking at each page.

My mom might still have it tucked away.

Kind of made me chuckle watching these to stuff their faces!

{diy} gold spike clutch

I have a slight obsession with all things Alexander McQueen. Probably one of my most favorite clothing/accessory lines! Only downfall about the line, is I would have to literally sell an arm and a leg to afford anything... Hmm might be worth it?

Just Kidding, I wouldn't sell anything.....Or would I????

His clutches are my FAVE!

A few weeks back I ran across this post by Stripes and Sequins and got totally inspired to create my own clutch with an A. McQueen feel.

Materials:

X-Large hard shell eyeglasses case 

(I found some on eBay or you get them at Target)

Glitter 

(In the color of your choice; I used Martha Stewart's)

Gold screw on spikes (found on etsy)

Mod Podge

Foam brush

Sandpaper

Pen
Drill/Drill bit 

1. Take your sandpaper and give the entire outside of the eyeglass case a good sanding. This will ensure that the glitter and glue will adhere to it. Then measure and mark where you want to have your spikes/studs placed. It doesn't have to be precise if you don't want it to be, but since I tend to lean slightly toward perfectionism it had to be measured! Then drill your holes, or have your husband drill them like I did because he doesn't like me using his tools... I should probably invest in my own!
2. Now it's time to mix your glue (Mod Podge) and glitter together. There are different ratios out there, i literally just poured the glue in and added glitter. It's about a 2:1 ratio glue to glitter. But as I was doing more layers, I added more glitter.
3. I did one side at a time, that way there was no awkward drying or holding stages. I applied several thin layers at a time and aloud about 20 minutes between each one to dry. In the end it will be about 6 coats and maybe some touching up here and there. After I reached my desired coverage, I let it sit over night to completely dry before I screwed the spikes on. 

This glitter is my new best friend!! I need it in EVERY color! 

I have a black eyeglass case that will jazzing up into a new clutch with my Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter and some larger spikes. 

These would make the perfect gifts for your BFF or even bridesmaids, if spikes aren't your thing, some funky drawer knobs or bedazzle the heck out of it!!

awesome time

     Since starting Project Life 365, which has only been 3 days, it has really pushed and motivated me to use my camera more. I guess you could say I have been in a photography-slump lately. Going from doing shoots all the time...to having none at the moment, kind of makes you doubt yourself as a photographer. Not saying that I am anywhere near being professional, but I love taking pictures, good pictures at that and when you have no fire burning under your tush to push you, your creativity seems to disappear. 

But with this project, I have been determined to shoot everyday. No matter what or where, I will bring my 

camera with me and capture something. 

These past few days I have been enjoying snapping some candid's of the munchkins. Playing with light and and different techniques.

Guess where I have been...

Shocking?? No, not really, but we can pretend!

I have been trying to revamp my wardrobe lately. Make it a better reflection of me and how I feel.

Of course Target is my place of choice lately.

They have been on a roll with the new designers they have and all the fun prints and silhouettes!

I am pretty happy with how cute my closet looks lately. 

And of course my Kids Closet too...

 With it being 2013 now, I couldn't pass up this zig-zag planer. And the green journal was on clearance for $4 (reg. $10), going to jot down all my thoughts and ideas that pop in my lil brain for the blog, in an effort to get more organized this year!

The shoes... No words!

I the sweat pants and top are so comfy, and not usually something I would buy. I follow Ascot Friday on Instagram along with Deep in the Hart, who both collaborate on the AMAZING Target Does It Again. I stalk their Instagram Feed daily to see what new items have hit the racks or what's newly on clearance. The best part is they take you into the dressing room and show you how it fits, or different ways to wear certain items with other ones. If you haven't checked them out yet...DO IT!

I am sad to say, that I am going to be cutting down on my Trips and Purchases to Target...

(SAD FACE)

Unless we need a the usual diaper and wipes run, I won't pass up that trip to Target...I will still browse, and occasionally drool.

But don't worry my friends, it's not the end of the world! It's for good reason...

I GOT A NEW CAR!! 

WHOOP WHOOP!!

We finally got a family size vehicle! I have been driving my trusty, crayola smelling VW Jetta for 8 years... 

While there were some great times with that car, I am so STOKED on the new one!!

Hmmm Maybe I should introduce it to the Target parking lot... They could be great friends!!!

hello 2013

Bye 2012...Hello 2013

So many things to be grateful for this past year.

So many memories made, new friendships created, and so much laughter enjoyed.

I am so thankful for my healthy family and all that we have and also gained through out 2012.

I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for us!

I have decided that my Word for the year will be Embrace. 

Embrace every moment that is given to me, Embrace my kids for they continue to grow like weeds, Embrace my Husband for the wonderful man that he is and our amazing marriage as well. Embrace...LIFE

Of course with a new year, that long list of resolutions you make...which never really become anything but a scribble on that "to-do list". 

But it wouldn't be a new year with out them, so here is a list of ones that I have made and hope to carry on through the year. (I really tried to be realistic...well, kind of)

1. Become a better wife (Not that I think I am a bad one, but there is always room for improvement)
2. Become a better mom (refer to #1)
3. Drink more water (I have to be better at this, seriously!)
4. Wake up earlier (So I can get things done before the kids wake)
5. Live up to my word; Embrace
6. Continue to grow as a blogger; gain more experience and knowledge
7. TAKE MORE PHOTOS WITH MY CAMERA
8. Also grow as a photographer (Plan to carry my camera with me more to capture life's precious moments)
9. Go on more Dates with my Hubby
10. Enjoy more get together with Friends
11. Continue to do more Random Acts of Kindness 
12. Be myself
13. Stand up for myself
14. Love myself (kind of vain sounding, but I really do need to)

I think that's a good start. Hoping I can live up to my list the entire year!

I also started doing Project Life 365. A daily photo challenge through out the year to help inspire your creativity. I am really excited about this!! I will be posting my photos daily on my Instagram and Twitter feeds. Then at the end of each week I will post a recap of the weeks photos here on the blog. Even with it only being the first day, I already feel inspired!
