{Thankful Thursday} Home Sweet Home

I am so thankful for my Home.

I am not talking about my house, although I am thankful for that too.

I am talking about where I live!

California...the Central Coast...Home

I when most people hear California, they tend to cringe!

Yes with crazy laws and elevated living prices, it can be a downer. 

But if you look past all that, we are pretty luck and fortunate to live in such 

a GORGEOUS place!

1. I love art & design. I went to art school when I was younger and worked for an art conservation and restoration company that worked on a lot of the Los Angeles Freeway murals. I later went on to learn patternmaking design after I completed some college. 

2. I was a dancer (no, not the exotic kind). I always dreamed of being a choreographer and working my way up as a back up dancer. The last time I performed in front of a live audience was in 2005. 

3. I can change a flat tire and change the oil in my car (but I no longer have time to do oil changes)

4. I use bahh, blerg and bleh (too) often, as well as parentheses (is that the plural form)

5. My ears stick out. I was definitely teased as a kid for this, but it doesn't bother me as much as it used to growing up.

{Thankful Thursday} A Jar Full of Greatness!

So this is a not-so-serious post...

But I had to share with you all something that I am NEWLY thankful for!!

Once I share this with you, I URGE you to go and follow suit!!

Okay, are you ready for this??!!

I am so THANKFUL for this wonderful jar of COOKIE BUTTER!!! Well lets be real hear, I am actually in LOVE with it. For the past few months, I have been seeing a lot of my IG peeps posting this NON-STOP!

And being as I rarely go to Trader Joe's, only for the occasional jar of Coconut Oil, I didn't see the need in making a special trip just for this. Plus I had no idea what it tasted like, or if it even tasted as great as everyone was claiming! But since I just so happened to be there (restocking my C.Oil) I thought, why not just GO FOR IT! Okay folks, my life has changed forever! No really, it has!!

I bought this jar last Saturday. My family and I, well...mainly I, have almost  demolished an entire jar of this sweetness!!

Makes the best sandwiches! Ok Ok, wait a minute, I have to be honest with you all...It's that time of the month so I have been devouring it by the spoonful! SCREW chocolate!! Grab yo-self some Cookie Butter!!

{Thankful Thursday} Power of Prayer

No I don't go to church on a regular basis.

I wouldn't say that I am all that Religious either.

I don't think that you need to be to Pray.

You see I have been praying a lot lately, quite a bit in these last 2 weeks actually. A family member has been in the hospital and under gone numerous surgeries. I feel guilty and scared. Guilty because I haven't been in touch with her like I should have been, I have no excuses for it. Scared because for a moment I wasn't sure if I would see her again...

So I prayed. 

I prayed my little heart out! That she would be okay. That I would see her again, that she would be healthy. And I am so Thankful that those prayers were heard!

She has a long road ahead of her with healing. She is so positive about life, and isn't worried about any struggles she might have in the future. She is a fighter!

I love you Aunt Bev!

{Thankful Thursday} So Many Things...

This Thursday I am thankful for a lot of things...

Kind of hard to narrow it down

to just one thing in particular...

1. I am thankful that my Hubs' Grandma's surgery went smoothly and she is recovering very fast!
2. I am thankful for my Mom & Sister for watching my munchkins while I have been working this month, it has really helped me out a lot!
3. I am thankful for Nap time... for just that 1 1/2 window I can just sit and breath with no worries...I should probably take advantage of nap time and actually do something productive, but it's so rare when they actually nap at the same time!!!
4. I am thankful for my rice cooker! It does amazing things and is amazingly fast!! Used it to cook quinoa for the first time and it was YUMMERS!
5. I am thankful for caffeine lately. It helps on those lagging mornings when I can't seem to get into gear!
6. Lastly, I am thankful for all the amazing Doctors and Nurses who are taking care of my Aunt Bev while she is in the hospital. She has a lot going on with her right now, but she is in good spirits and looking at everything in a positive light, despite the circumstances she is face with now. I pray that they continue to work their magic and she can go home soon!

It has an alarm that you can set to remind you every day, which is wonderful because I can 

never remember. It also has cute little bullet icons to choose from too, who does like cute bullets!?

It's a nice way to unwind at the end of the day, with a little reminder to take time to appreciate everything

that goes on!

{Thankful Thursday} The Brave

So here's today, Thursday September 13th, 2012...

Two days after September 11th, 2012...

11 years after September 11th, 2001...

Here I sit so very thankful...

No, I am not thankful that this happened at all.

Actually, just the thought of that day angers me and brings me to the brink of tears. That day will forever be burned into my mind as a day to remember all the innocent people who lost their lives to such horrible events that were meant to shake and bring down our country.

Events that led to War to fight for our FREEDOM and bring justice to those responsible for these attacks on our nation. I think a lot of people lose sight this, brainwashed by the media and what they want you to believe. (I will stop right there with politics, to each his own and what you believe).

This is what brings me to tell you what I am thankful for...

I am thankful for the BRAVE Men & Women who selflessly put their lives on the line everyday to ensure that our safety is upheld! Those who have fought and lost their lives, fight for what they believe. Their Families who wait at home, not knowing if their loved ones will return alive or even at all...

These people are truly HEROS!

I am so very thankful everyday for what they do. Protecting our Country, fighting for this Nation!

Ensuring that we can safely tuck our little ones in bed every night, while they read letters from home missing their families.

War comes with a price, I know. 

But not every one can go do what these Brave Military Men & Women do.

It takes a TRUE HERO to put their life on the line and not think anything of it.

I am so thankful everyday for those who have SERVED, FOUGHT, & continue to FIGHT everyday.

I also give thanks to the families at home! I pray everyday that your loved ones return home to your arms safely!

Soldiers' Angels, for those of you who don't know, is a non-profit based group who provide aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and their amazing families. They provide support to veterans, wounded and deployed in various ways.

I joined and became an Approved Angel, which means that I officially signed up to help any way I can. So in the wake of the 11th Anniversary, I decided to Adopt A Soldier. I am basically becoming an Angel (pen pal/friend) with a deployed soldier for the remainder of their deployment.
I did this once before and look forward to communicating with my new Soldier.
