weekend vibes | summer rain

we had an epic storm roll through on saturday evening. woke us all up at 2am sunday and we ended up camped out in the living room. it was gone by sunday afternoon and left behind puddles galore in our back yard, the kids wasted no time jumping in.

I just discovered that you can embed your Instagram videos onto your blog. I was making it much more difficult, saving then emailing and then saving, then uploading.... Anywho Alissa at Rags to Stitches Blog shows you how to do it here.

I thought it would be fun to share my IG vids from this weekend instead of just snapshots (and mainly because I only took 1 photo all weekend!)

Hope you all had a great extended weekend! Also a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Got to spend sometime with some of my lovely lady friends at an annual Fourth of July BBQ we attend every year. Always fun to catch up and also make new friends.

My mom had some high school friends visiting from Arkansas. Got together with them at my mom's house for a BBQ on Saturday and literally laughed all day. They are always a kick when they come to visit.

It was a fun, busy weekend.

BBQ Oysters! If you are ever on the Central Coast and in Morro Bay, go eat at Tognazzini's Dockside Resturant. You wont be disappointed!

It finally felt like summer this weekend- HOT HOT HOT!

I felt bad that we were cooped up in the house all weekend. The kids don't do great with the heat, so we just relaxed in the cool house.

Of course no summer day would be complete without some movies and popsicles- seemed to keep the kids entertained. I even enjoyed some yummy iced coffee- quite refreshing!

The kids were even kind enough to lend their kiddie pool to the dogs so they could beat the heat. They were thankful for it and splashed all weekend!

We did get a few fun moments to let the kids out for some sprinkler fun. Helped relieve some of that cabin fever.

Looking forward to hopefully it cooling off by the end of the week. It will still be in the 90's, but I will take it.

A nice relaxing weekend. 

Got some time to myself at the salon and a trip to Costco with my mama. 

We were all finally over the sickness (more like a cold) that has been around for the last 2 weeks. So we just took it easy and relaxed. 

Broke out some paints with the kids and got artsy. Trying to get back into painting and drawing again, haven't done it for so long and I have so missed it. 

 

Have you had the chance to play around with the new video option on Instagram? Been seeing mixed reviews about it. Some love it, while others are annoyed with it. I am one of the ones who love it. While a pictures can say so much with just one shot, a 15 second video can say so much more. They have a mini documentary feel to them. I still want them to have that Instagram feel to them, and not use it as a home video feature. How do you feel about them?

Monday, already!!

I had great intentions of having a great post for today... But I don't!

This weekend kicked my butt!

Going to be spending the day getting my house back in order, so I don't lose my mind. 

And hopefully once that is accomplished I can have a FAB post for you tomorrow!

Moments I live for. After a long crazy Sunday, she climbed in bed with me this morning to snuggle which then turned into sleeping in an extra 2 hours. We all needed it!

Coffee...STAT!

OK OK OK!! I am awake! I swear!!

So we're having coffee again! 

And this morning, I might just drink a whole pot to myself! I need it!

This month has been so busy busy!

Not complaining at all though, all for good reasons!

Had a great day yesterday at the store...until I was bombarded by some guy!

Not gonna lie...I was freaking out inside!!

This "Normal" looking guy comes in the store, (Note: I am completely by myself, no customers)

and greets me nicely and says he has some questions about shoes... OK, sure, no problem...Right...

Well, then he proceeds to tell me about these shoes and the name (Vans) and how it's disrespectful and on and on and  on...And the elderly with their crutches....And he would not try and sell these shoes (points to Logo on box) to his wife in Texas, but will gladly let the Man in Brooklyn know about them....ARE YOU WITH ME MA'MA!!!? (Proceeds to get VERY aggressive and has me cornered in our cashier area..) Now you know I find this offensive because, points to logo on box again, my name is Van so you can see where when you are selling this image that states MY name and I don't even know about it...(I think at this point I had a blank look and my heart was POUNDING!) ARE YOU UNDERSTANDING WHAT I AM SAYING MA'MA!!? (Starts to close the gap that was between us) Now you know young lady some might find it OFFENSIVE for me to be talking to you this close....Now I hope that one day when that man puts a ring on your finger, that it STANDS for something.....IT'S THE PRINCIPLE!!....When I walk down the street and I see that sign that says "Vans", I think that it is misleading...

Okay... were you lost....GOOD, cause that's how I felt the entire time he was YELLING at me!

OH WAIT!! I forgot to mention...The BIG black duffle bag that he was carrying with him...

WTH!!!

If you know me in real life, I really have a hard time being mean or assertive towards people, so I stood there for a good 25 minutes. (I was hoping a customer would come in or the phone would ring...Something to save me from this guy).

After he proceeded to let me know in a strange way that I was stupid for having a blank look on my face and not understanding what he was trying to tell me, I told him:

"You are right, I don't know what you are talking about and I have no idea why you are even here. So I am going to have to ask you to leave!"

(Lump forms in my throat! Great!! Now he is going to stuff me in that duffle bag!!)

Luckily he decided to leave and tell me that he will no longer be shopping with us any more...

THANK GOODNESS!!

After telling the manager about it, she said this isn't the first time it has happened, so we decided it would be best for us and other merchants as well to call the police department and let them know about his guy...

I was of course on edge the rest of the day! 

Ended my Thursday by doing my Grandma's hair before she goes on a trip this weekend. Had some good laughs, and she also let me borrow a book she just finished, Killing Lincoln. I am really excited to read it. I have heard good things about it...

Made a late night Target run and got some FUN things and food of course...

It's hard to say no to cute clothes like these! I know if I didn't get them now, they would be gone or the sizes I would need would be available...Good enough reason...Right??! LOL

This morning I made not 1 but 2 different breakfasts!!

Made a nice little plate of scrambled eggs with some cereal....I guess I should have asked first..

So like the GOOD mother I am, I caved and made them...And to give you a good idea of how tired I am, I forgot to add sugar! lol Oh well they still ate them! 

Do you have any great breakfast ideas for Toddlers?? I would LOVE to hear them and try them out!!

I also enjoyed my first PSL of the season yesterday!! 

So in love with this drink! I might try it Iced tomorrow!!!

I am looking forward to another busy weekend! Work all day Saturday and a Family/Senior Portrait Session on Sunday!!

{Weekend Rewind} Labor Day Fun

Happy Monday...I mean Tuesday!

Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend!! 

This extra weekend day kind of threw me off a little, but nothing a little caffeine can't fix right!

I worked at Kahuna Kids on Saturday. Thankful that it was pretty busy! Met some fun families who stopped in to grab last minute Back to School clothes. And a very talkative 4 year old, and when I say talkative I mean 100 questions every 5 minutes! LOL He had me cracking up the entire time. So fun!

Did a whole lot of nothing the beginning of Sunday, then decided to get my butt in gear and clean my house. Even managed to mop my icky floors! Why are floors always the pits of cleaning?! I manage to get everything done and then I come to the floors and I just can't find any extra energy I want to waste on them! I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this...

Had a nice little Labor Day BBQ with the In Laws yesterday. Great food and the kids had a blast chasing each other around the house. Ended the night with a little sprinkler fun in the front yard! The munchkins were all over that! And then freezing after about 5 minutes! But little man was having too much fun to even think about going inside (which then led to a melt down and then eventually bed)

Love watching these two make memories!

{Weekend Rewind} BUSY!

Happy Monday everyone!!

I swear yesterday was just Friday! These weekends seem to be flying by! 

I am a little slacking today on this post. My mind has been going 100 mph these past few days. 

If you haven't heard/read I officially opened my Etsy shop this last week.

I am super excited about it. Have been getting a lot of great feedback from so many awesome people! I also just added some of the jewelry I have started making to the shop last night. I think once I get the jewelry part all figured out and established, I will be opening it's own little shop on Etsy. We will see, but I kind of want it to have it's own place and name away from the Mustache Mama shop, it will be like a sister shop I guess.

Any who, that's where I am with all that!
We had a busy weekend visiting Grandma's like usual and enjoying this cooler weather FINALLY!!
It was nice no having to turn on the A/C all day.
I also discovered that Lil Man has a NEW tooth coming in! That would 7 little razors in his mouth!
Lil Miss is still going good with potty training too, still in the early stages but definitely making progress.
Didn't get to see much of my Hubs this weekend, busy working away. But we did make plans to go to the beach this coming weekend which I am really excited about!! Haven't been in over a year!! The kids will love it too, it's all I seem to hear about lately. LOL

{Weekend Rewind} Trying to Beat the Heat

Happy Monday and welcome to my new followers!!! 

Hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend!! 

We had a nice relaxing week. We stayed inside majority of the time because it's still BLAZING hot here!! Spent some time at my mom's and visited with my sister, who was busy making  Corn Hole boards for her upcoming wedding. If you haven't played Corn Hole, you're missing out!

Watched few Shark Week shows. Still makes me that much more terrified of them. Although the technology that they use now is AMAZING! Learned that they are using these Phantom Cameras, which are capable of shooting 1,000 fps (frames per second), to shoot when Great White Sharks breach. If you have not seen videos of this, it's unbelievable. That's my little history lesson for the week.

Then spent the rest of the weekend at home. Cleaning, cooking, and even a little cat napping. 

Perfect way to spend the weekend with the ones I love!

The Hubs caught a praying mantis in our front yard and gave it to Lil Miss. She thought it was a grasshopper, Tomato-Tamato!

She made a new friend! Poor little guy had to put up with quite a bit. Some shakes here and there and even tossed across the room! While she wasn't paying attention, I did a little Praying Mantis release so he could live to see another day...Well to only be caught again a few hours later so Lil Miss could have him again.
