So much excitement in our family this week. My sister and her husband welcomed their first child over the weekend- a handsome little boy! We are all smitten with him!!


Making : an effort to wake up early and make my husband his lunch every morning
Cooking : my husband has been doing most of the cooking right now, been a little exciting with my sister just having her baby this past weekend
Drinking : coffee
Reading: trying to catch up on some blogs
Wanting: a small nap
Looking: at pictures of my new Nephew
Playing: nothing much
Wasting: time on social media (instagram addict)- nothings changed there
Sewing: I need to pull out my machine and work on something
Wishing: for cooler weather and some rain
Enjoying: using my essential oils
Waiting: my essential oil order to arrive
Liking: chunky necklaces
Wondering: what it's going to feel like to be a year older this month
Loving: seeing my kids love on their new baby cousin

Being a mom I feel it is sometimes hard to juggle our favorite past times.

They sometimes get lost in the hustle of life.

I use to be upset about it- I just want to be able to do it all. But sometimes we can't. And that's ok [!]

And I am finally okay with not doing it all. I feel like it takes so much pressure off myself and I can really enjoy being in the moment with my kids and/or my husband.

Today I found a moment to pick up my camera- it's been so many months since I was behind it. After a few clicks, I could feel that wave of inspiration run through me. Oh how I have missed this.

I have missed capturing passing moments.

While I am totally ok with not being to do all, I think it also important to still enjoy those passions. I love photography and wish I could do it all day everyday (maybe one day I can). When I find these small windows I definitely will take them and run with it.

Reading. At the moment, nothing. I have so many books that I have started and none of them are finished. I get side tracked and then completely forget about them until months late- at that point I have no clue what happened in the first half of the book so I have to start over. And then I am back at square one again, a half read book. I have been investing in some photography books and I have been thumbing through those a lot finding inspiration or learning some new techniques.

Doing. We have been doing lots of play dates lately. I am usually such a homebody, but that's not really fair to the kids. So we try to get out at least once or twice a week to the park or a friend's house. They enjoy playing with their friends and I get some mommy talk with my friends. It's kind of a win/win for us all.

Working on. So if you have been following this blog for a bit, you know that it has been quite a long time since my last post. I had plans of just taking a mini blog break and that turned into an almost 5 month hiatus. I am trying to get back into the swing of things again and hoping I can stay committed to it. I really miss writing up these posts and interacting with this lovely blogging community. It will definitely be some baby steps, but I am working on getting back to it.

Watching. I am loving the new season of Grimm. We have been hooked since the first episode, and I look forward to Friday nights snuggling on the couch with my husband, zoned into Grimm. It was exciting to see Monroe finally propose to Rosalie- although should be interesting to see how his family adjusts to her but to the fact that his friend is a Grimm. Seriously this show is just too good. I wont say much more incase you haven't had a chance to start watching it, in which case you need to start.

Loving. So in the 5 months I have been gone from the blogging world, I actually got a part time job. Yay me! I finally got back to doing hair at my girlfriends new salon. I had been wanting to possibly get back into it and when she asked if I was interested, I knew I had too. It's only one day a week, but it's perfect. I get to get back into doing something that I love and have missed for so long. I miss my kids all dang day when I am there, but I think it was something I needed- kind of like some 'me' time. The best part is, I get to work with girls I had worked with in a previous salon. We are all together again doing what we love and laughing our butts off all day long!

Sometimes I wish I had one of those nifty gadgets that stops time.

Or at least slows down certain moments.

As a mom, there are lots of those moments that seems to pass by in an instant. Ones you will cherish forever and will be stored away in the evergrowing memory bank. 

I am so thankful for all the technology that we have now that allows us to capture these moments on a daily basis. 

I will continue to wish these little ones will stay little forever as they grow before my eyes. And will continue to cherish all these precious moments that I have with them.

little man, not so little

I decided it was time to give Little Man a haircut! Although I hate having to trim his little locks, it was much needed! It's amazing what a simple haircut can do; one minute he's this little baby boy and then the next he is a little man boy!! I have trimmed his hair in the past here and there, but it has always been such a challenge to get him to sit still or keep his tiny chubby fingers away from the sharp blades. So pulled in all my go-to resources to ensure I could get a FULL haircut.

What is normally a 30 minute stress-ball battle, was a quick 10 minute snip snip!!

typical day

 Most of our days run like clock-work and run smooth with minor kinks... Other days I am counting down the minutes until my hubby gets home to help me wrangle these silly monkeys!

Here are some snippets from a typical day in our house.

:: Morning snuggles in our bed ::

:: If I am home all day, I literally just wear work out clothes and shoes (most of the time with no intention of actually working out. French Toast, dishes, Hubby makes some lunch for work, and more dishes ::

:: Food coma, cartoons (yes, my kids watch TV, judge away all you want). I will introduce you to 1 of our 3 dogs. He is my vacuum through out the day ::

:: Hoping she's a Yankee Girl like her Mama!! ::

:: PB&J ::

:: It always looks like a tornado tore through the house... And I can't stand it, so 5 minutes after I took this picture I picked it all up and vacuumed the entire floor. I have become OCD about this since becoming a mom LOL ::

:: She asked for a bath ::

So that's as exciting as it gets. The rest of the day usually consist of cuddling, cuddling, coloring, cuddling, snacks, attack Dad when he gets home, cuddling, dinner, bath, bed.
